L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts in Seoul
Founded in Paris in 2012, L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts is an educational and research institution dedicated to exploring and sharing the many dimensions of jewelry culture, with the support of Van Cleef & Arpels. Through courses, workshops, exhibitions, publications, and research projects spanning the history of jewelry, gemology, craftsmanship, design, and art history, L'ÉCOLE has introduced jewelry not merely as an ornament, but as a cultural and artistic heritage.
Today, L'ÉCOLE operates permanent campuses in Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Dubai, while presenting educational programs and exhibitions in major cities around the world. Its activities bring together scholars, gemologists, artisans, designers, and other specialists to examine the history, techniques, and aesthetics of jewelry from diverse perspectives.
In the summer of 2026, L'ÉCOLE will open its first campus in Korea at Futura Seoul. Running from June 25 to July 15, the Seoul Campus will present 105 lectures, workshops, and talks focused on the history of jewelry, the world of gemstones, and jewelry-making techniques. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore two special exhibitions—The Emerald Garden: Discovering the Gemstone and Reviving Craftsmanship: A Celtic Torque Replica of the Mønning Torque—which highlight the rich history and craftsmanship embedded in jewelry culture.
The exhibitions are free to the public, while lectures, workshops, and talks are available through advance reservation. Through the Seoul Campus, Futura Seoul aims to offer visitors a new way of experiencing jewelry as a cultural medium where art, history, and science intersect.
